Veterans' Week 2026 | November 5–11
Every November, Canada pauses to remember.
The red poppies. The ceremonies. The moment of silence.
But remembrance was never meant to be just another date on the calendar.
It's an invitation to consider something we often take for granted: the freedom we live in today came at a cost.
Behind that freedom are real people. Sons and daughters. Mothers and fathers. Husbands and wives.
People with families, dreams, and futures of their own. People who served knowing that sacrifice might be part of the cost.
Some came home. Some never did. Others returned carrying wounds the world could not see.
And their stories deserve more than a moment of our attention.
A Generation That Must Remember
We live in a world that moves fast.
Breaking news. Endless scrolling. Another headline. Another crisis. Another distraction.
We have access to more information than any generation before us, yet it's remarkably easy to forget the people and sacrifices that helped shape the lives we enjoy today.
During Veterans' Week, November 5–11, we're reminded that peace and freedom should never be treated as ordinary things.
And remembrance isn't only about looking back at history.
It's also about recognizing those among us today who have served, including those who participated in peacekeeping missions, humanitarian efforts, and military operations around the world.
It's about the families who waited at home. The loved ones who carried uncertainty. The Veterans who continue to live with the physical and emotional weight of their service.
Their sacrifices don't disappear when the ceremonies end.
And our gratitude shouldn't either.
Remembrance should shape the way we live.
Not just with gratitude, but with responsibility.
The Courage to Stand for Something
At Iron Ministry, we believe conviction matters.
Not the kind that only shows up when it's convenient. But the kind that shapes our everyday choices, even when nobody is watching.
When we consider the courage and sacrifice of those who served, it challenges us to examine how we live with the freedoms we enjoy today.
For us at Iron Ministry, that reflection is shaped by our Christian faith.
Scripture reminds us:
"Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong." — 1 Corinthians 16:13 (NIV)
These words speak to spiritual courage, not military service. Yet they challenge us to consider what it means to live with integrity, responsibility, and conviction in our own lives.
We honour those who served our country through real acts of courage and sacrifice.
And as people of faith, we also ask ourselves:
What are we doing with the freedom we've been given?
Are we using it to serve others?
To pursue what is good?
To build something meaningful for the generation coming after us?
Because gratitude is more than something we express.
It's something we can choose to live out.
A Call to Live Awake
There is a difference between remembering history and allowing what we've learned to shape how we live.
We can acknowledge the sacrifices of the past while becoming increasingly distracted by the present.
And in a world constantly competing for our attention, it's easy to become passive about the things that matter most.
As Christians, we believe our response to the world around us should be more than passive observation.
Scripture calls believers to awaken from spiritual complacency:
"Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." — Ephesians 5:14 (NIV)
This is the heart behind our REVIVAL message.
Not an invitation to glorify conflict, but a reminder to remain spiritually awake.
To walk in the light.
To stand firm in truth.
To live with humility, compassion, and conviction.
To live a faith that extends beyond Sunday mornings and into the ordinary moments of everyday life.
Revival isn't something we manufacture through enthusiasm or effort. True spiritual renewal is the work of God, drawing hearts back to Him.
And when our hearts are awakened by His grace, the way we live should begin to reflect it.
In how we love.
In how we serve.
In how we treat those around us.
Because faith was never meant to be passive.
Lest We Forget
This Veterans' Week, amid the noise and demands of everyday life, may we make room to remember.
Not simply as a tradition, but as an expression of gratitude.
We remember those who served, those who never returned, and those who continue to carry the unseen weight of sacrifice.
We honour the families who stood beside them, whose sacrifices are often less visible but no less deserving of recognition.
As a Canadian Christian brand, we are grateful for the freedoms we enjoy. May we never become so accustomed to them that we forget the people who helped preserve them.
May gratitude move beyond words.
May remembrance lead us toward greater compassion, responsibility, and service to others.
And may we steward the freedom we've been given with humility and purpose.
We remember. We honour.
Lest we forget.
